Latin American School of Medical Sciences
Page 3 of 3
Recognizing that many poor, working class and students of color in the United States are just as precluded from attending medical school as their brothers and sisters in Latin America and the Caribbean, and motivated by the stories told by Congressional Black Caucus representative Bennie G. Thompson on his visit to Cuba about the lack of doctors to serve poor African Americans in the Mississippi Delta, Cuba is offering 250 fully paid scholarships to medical school in Cuba to African-American, Latino/a, Native American and other poor and underserved young people in the United States.
If you, or someone you know, are between the ages of 18 and 25,  are interested in attending medical school but cannot afford to do so, and are motivated to utilize medical studies to practice in underserved areas of the U.S., this program presents a great opportunity!
